Do not accept or unload the product until the discrepancy is formally documented. Note the broken or missing seal on the delivery receipt, photograph the seal and container closure, and notify the shipper immediately. For food products, organic certifications, or regulated chemicals, a broken seal at delivery may require the shipment to be held pending investigation by the certifier, buyer, or relevant regulatory authority before the product is moved into inventory.
