Now that North Dakota has jumped to #2 behind Texas in the production of oil, and we are also pumping oil in Canada, transportation of oil and gas has become a bit tricky and a bit risky. Since there has been such a debate regarding what states would accept a pipeline running through them, oil is instead being shipped via rail.
Obviously, there are a lot of safety concerns regarding this transportation as we have already seen a few unfortunate accidents. One way to combat the danger of moving crude oil via railroad, is to be sure that all hatches, locks and seals are protected.
We have been seeing an increase in calls and queries, particularly from oil related companies in North Dakota and we want to be sure that we are doing our part to help insure that the transportation aspect of the oil and gas industry goes as smoothly as possible.
We have figured that the best way to lend our hand to the efforts is to work with companies that are looking for seals, and inform that not only do we have the products that can help keep both their products and people safe, but we also will send them custom samples for whatever application it is that they need.
