For those who are staying in hotels during this time of Covid-19 spread, hotels are doing all they can to provide protection and to assure safe cleaning practices for their guests.

One recent step by many hotels is to use a tamper evident adhesive label to seal the doors of hotel rooms after complete cleaning and sanitation. Once the seal is applied the door cannot be opened without leaving a VOID or OPEN warning message on the label. On arrival a guest can see verification that the seal has not been removed after cleaning. A label that has not been removed will show normal printing without an open or void warning message. This confirms no one else has been in the room since it was sanitized.

Tamper evident labels (security labels) are not new, and have a wide range of applications. Many will recognize this type of label from use on gasoline pumps to seal credit card readers.

A version of our AC&M Labelzon^TM Adhesive Security Label is the type most widely used for hotel doors. It has a special NO-RESIDUE adhesive, and is available from stock on rolls of 1,000 labels per roll in colors red or blue. Custom print is available for larger lots. The stock print has a barcoded serial number, plus a writing area to note the date and the identity of the person applying the label.

NO-RESIDUE adhesive will show a warning message just on the label. The word OPEN or VOID is visible in a repeat pattern where the label was pulled off the surface. Meanwhile the adhesive does not stay on the surface of the door or door trim. This means no chemicals or scraping are needed to clean up after use.
