American Casting & Manufacturing Congratulates Scholarship Winner, Shelby Bauer
Posted by Steve Diebold
At American Casting & Manufacturing, we understand how important a good education is to a young adult’s future and we want to help give them the tools to achieve it. The American Casting & Manufacturing scholarship is a $500 scholarship that we award twice per year based on academic achievement and writing skills.
We are pleased to announce the winner of our Spring 2021 scholarship, Shelby Bauer. Shelby is a Mechanical Engineering major at The Pennsylvania State University, set to graduate in December 2021.
Throughout her time at Penn State, Shelby has shown a great commitment to her studies. She currently holds a 3.78 GPA in a competitive major at a prestigious university. In addition to her academic success, Shelby is also an involved member of the Penn State community. She is involved in campus organizations such as Formula SAE (Manufacturing Subsection), American Foundry Society, Penn State THON Rules and Regulation Committee (leadership positions held), Philanthropic Fantasy Sports Club, and Penn State Intramural Sports Referee.
Shelby’s essay dove deep into the benefits of security seals for manufacturing, applying her ideas to her personal experience as an intern in an investment casting company that works for high-security customers as well as her everyday life. Her thoughtful essay, academic achievements, and extracurricular activities made her an outstanding candidate and deserved winner of our Spring 2021 scholarship.
Congratulations Shelby! You deserve this scholarship for your hard work and great essay.
The scholarship is open to college Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate Students of any major, as long as they are enrolled in school full-time. To apply for the Fall 2021 scholarship (deadline of July 1, 2021), click here.
